Astrology is the study of the planetary energies (including the Sun and Moon), and the effect of those energies on our lives and on our world. Astrologers speak of these energies using “the language of the Cosmos,” a language that reflects how the Zodiac signs, the 12 houses, and the 9 planets (including the Sun and Moon) interact. I will explain and clarify this language at your initial natal chart reading. This understanding, in turn, can help you to see how the energies and interactions of the planets at the time of your birth have impacted your life up to now, and how you can use these energies to find your way in the world.
Providing a Perspective
Astrological counseling brings together the counseling skills of deep listening, encouragement, and mirroring with astrological wisdom and information about yourself. While the focus is on helping you with your issues, counseling astrology can provide a lens through which you can see and understand yourself differently, perhaps more clearly than you might without it. What follows is a brief description of how counseling and astrology come together in the session.
Counseling
As you explore your issues and concerns through the lens of Astrology, I will listen, ask questions, and encourage you to express yourself. As I raise questions about the planetary energies present at the time of your birth (the Natal Chart), I will mirror back to you your sense of whether/how these energies have manifested in your life up to now, helping you to understand yourself, address challenges or patterns, and learn about your personal growth in general. I will listen with acceptance and without judgment, and I will offer counseling as needed/requested.
Astrology
Knowing how the natal chart astrology reflects your life will help you to see your strengths and consider your weaknesses, as well as the challenges and opportunities that may be present for you in this lifetime. As an astrologer and a teacher, I will explain the chart itself–what the planets, signs, and houses mean and how they are laid out. I’ll help you to see how to use your natal chart as a tool–zeroing in on the issues you raise, as well as providing a guide to personal growth and to your soul’s path. Astrology is a powerful tool in this process, one that can
- provide perspective on the issue/question raised,
- allow you to see challenges or difficulties as the result of planetary energies at work and not intended misdeeds, thereby easing guilt, blame, or judgment and promoting understanding, self-acceptance, and growth.
- allow you to see what planetary energies are available to you for help with your issues
- encourage an understanding of whatever issues may be present for you in this moment, or in this lifetime.
